Danny’s Story

You are here: Home / Poverty and Inequality / What will you do to end homelessness? / Danny’s Story

Responding to homelessness doesn’t necessarily mean starting up a new social action project – it’s about the way we do church, being inclusive and bringing what we already do best to the people around us.

Lighthouse West Yorkshire, a fresh expression of church, gave Danny meaningful activities and a family.  They also signposted him to the help he needed. This helped him escape the ‘chaos’ which leads to cycles of homelessness, meaning that he’s now able to maintain his own tenancy and even support others trying to do the same. To find out more about Lighthouse and how they’re encouraging other churches to work with those at risk of homelessness, visit their website.
