It’s important that we show that many people in the UK support welcoming refugees and asylum seekers as part of our communities. As part of the Together With Refugees Coalition, we’re inviting individuals and community groups across the UK to use the symbol of an orange heart to show their solidarity with refugees.
Together With Refugees say:
“The orange heart represents compassion for people fleeing war and persecution. Inspired by the refugee nation flag, and the colours of a lifebelt, the heart symbolises hope and kindness.”
Could you show the orange heart in your window, or in your church? Or could you get creative and create a display of orange hearts made by your community?
You can find ideas and templates from Together With Refugees here.
Show Your Heart reveal events
If you’re planning to display your orange hearts as a group, could you host a ‘Show Your Heart’ event to launch your display? Together With Refugees are encouraging local groups to plan an action in December, alongside others across the country.
