On 6th August 1945 an atomic bomb was dropped on the city of Hiroshima in Japan, marking the first ever use of nuclear weapons in human conflict. 3 days later, on 9th August, a second device was used to attack the city of Nagasaki. Sunday 9thAugust 2015 marks the 70th anniversary of these bombings.
