Elections in Wales

You are here: Home / Elections / Elections in Wales

Elections will be held in each of the 22 Local Authorities in Wales on May 5 2022. In many places, there will also be elections for Town or Community Councillors. At all these elections, those aged 16 and 17 are eligible to vote, as well as those over 18, and many overseas citizens are also eligible to vote. The Electoral Commission website allows you to check whether you are eligible to vote. In order to vote you must register by April 14 2022. On this page we will post information about some of the topics which will be important in these elections and suggest some questions you may wish to ask candidates – face-to-face on the doorstep, or by letter or email during the campaign. Fe gynhelir etholiadau ymhob un o’r 22 Awdurdod Lleol yng Nghymru ar Fai 5 2022. Mewn llawer man, fe fydd yna etholiadau ar gyfer Cynghorwyr Tref a Chymuned hefyd. Ar gyfer yr holl etholiadau hyn, mae pobl sy’n 16 a 17 oed yn gymwys i bleidleisio, yn ogystal â’r sawl sydd dros 18, a mae llawer o ddinasyddion tramor hefyd yn gymwys i bleidleisio. Mae gwefan y Comisiwn Etholiadol yn gadael i chi wirio a ydych yn gymwys i bleidleisio. Er mwyn pleidleisio mae’n rhaid cofrestru erbyn Ebrill 14 2022. Ar y dudalen hon byddwn yn cynnwys gwybodaeth am rai o’r pynciau fydd yn codi yn yr etholiadau hyn ac yn awgrymu cwestiynau y gallwch eu gofyn i ymgeiswyr – wyneb-yn-wyneb ar stepen y drws, neu trwy lythyr neu ebost atynt yn ystod yr ymgyrchu.
